The NHL hockey season has left me a little like Steve Mason. Dazed, not sure what just happened or where we are going.
I just can’t quite let the NHL hockey season go. So bear with me for a little more mourning–
A poem keeps coming to mind, particularly a few lines. The Poem is,
The Charge of the Light Brigade
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
The lines are:
Someone had blunder’d:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Or of course, if we want to get a little more “Fine Arts” we could go to:
- This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper. - T. S. Eliot, The Hollow Men
But life must go on, so let’s look at a bright side.. The news release that Seattle has approved a new sports complex and arena, make a potential expansion of the NHL a little more likely. This would be right next door to Vancouver, so I’d think hockey would be a great draw. The article [click title for link]
Potential NHL Seattle owner talks relocation vs. expansion
Talks about expansion and NHL re-alignment of teams like the world is sunny and hockey is back. I guess I like that attitude!!!!
