As you’ve probably heard, things are starting to get cancelled. So far, it’s just the start of training camps and pre-season games, more to come…….. AND no talks scheduled!!!
I happened to talk to a guy yesterday who was walking past me with a Blue Jacket shirt on. He said he personally knows of about 60 tickets holder holdings [holder could have multiple tickets he is holding, like 4 for a family = 4 tickets but also for multiple game packages] that are requesting their money back. Now 60 tickets, even if they were all season tickets is only a drop in the financial bucket. But many comments have been made as to whether the fan base will be as forgiving as last time. Fans are pretty upset with both sides. My bet is that whenever hockey returns, there will be a lot more TV viewings than forecast, and fewer butts in the seats. And of course, that effect will wear off….. as with all sports being on site is just more thrilling than viewing from a couch. Fans care, apathy is not in a fan’s vocabulary`
