I hope you caught the interesting projection, that if the players miss 8 games, they will have lost approximately the same amount that the owners proposals would cost them. But since 8 games is approximately 10% of the season’s games, it means the players are being asked to take a 10% pay cut.
This figure seems like a lot. but how many of us, when faced with the ultimatum of a 10% cut or a loss of job would pick the loss of job.
It’s been said that the players are standing on principal. Standing for the next generation. Standing for the next contract. If so, so be it. But it remains the owners will not be the loosers, but the players will be. AND 0f course we the fans are caught in the middle and are the loosers, particularly we in Columbus!!!
